Franck Delaplace, from the IBISC Laboratory COSMO team:

“Our research focuses on the controllability of networks. Biological networks provide a systemic understanding of molecular processes based on the interactome analysis.

In this context, the challenge of network controllability is to define which specific actions performed on molecules deliberately deviate the cell fate. This challenge embodies a major question in medicine with different applications. In particular, it finds a privileged application framework in the discovery of new therapeutic targets or in the identification of the causes of diseases with a view to deepening the diagnosis. Indeed, the two correspond to a directed transition from a healthy state to a sick state or vice versa. This approach is more particularly dedicated to the causal study of complex diseases such as cancer.

We have designed a “data to prediction” platform called ACTONET that allows us to dynamically model a subnetwork of the interactome from which we predict therapeutic targets and appropriate actions on them to recover a healthy state from a diseased state.

We are looking for collaborations with physicians or biologists who would be interested in using our platform for their research. »
