The aim of the project is to calculate indicators to assess the quality of care for cancer patients at the end of their lives. To do this, the methodological challenge is to supplement the so-called ‘structured’ data (in particular data from the health insurance system) with information that can only be found in free text in hospitalisation or analysis reports. This data has to be extracted using specific methods known as “automated language processing”. Certain methods will be developed and their performance and reliability will be evaluated on hospital data.
