With an output of 5×106 cells per second, red blood cells (RBCs) possess the ability to circulate in all organs. By exploiting their transport properties (cargo system), the use of RBCs as antigen presenters represents an effective approach to activate the immune response without adjuvants. This project aims to generate novel viral vectors that selectively target RBC precursors to express antigens on their surface in vivo, effectively triggering the immune response.
